Gunfire darting through the streets, dynamite illuminating the alleys, screaming women and children running for cover. The baddies have reigned chaos in the city and it’s up to *insert cartoon character name here* to save the day. All in 2D.

There are so many superheroes out there to choose from, but which one is best qualified to tackle villains day after day? Hmmm.

Superman always seems to be a pretty good option. He’s a do-gooder, he can fly, he’s stronger than almost everyone and he has those delicious abs that look like half a dozen of tightly packed Woollies rolls. However, he does have that whole kryptonite weakness and just about EVERYONE knows about it, so that means Superman is out of the running for this one.

Then there is someone like The Incredible Hulk who would just never get my vote. That giant snot muscle has absolutely no self control. He seems like the kind of character that causes more harm and destruction than anyone else, running through the streets with those elephant sized feet crushing cars and people. “Whoopsie, sorry innocent civilians for killing you with my stupidity while I chase this helicopter...”. Hulk, here’s a tip, buy a tooth brush and ease up on the HGH. Seriously.

The more I think about it, the more I come to realise that no ‘one’ person is perfect. If only there were a trio of crime fighters. Their efforts would be a combination of their strengths and would make up for their individual weaknesses. They could support one another and find a lesson to learn in each one of their crusades. They could wear tube socks and mini-skirts! Wait a minute… it’s The Powerpuff Girls! *queue Powerpuff theme tune*.

This combination of sugar (Bubbles), spice (Blossom), and everything nice (Buttercup) kick butt from a dizzy height. They save the day holding a lollipop and a smile, and always leave their viewers with a positive message about how to tackle issues in their lives.

There it is, the ultimate pack of crime fighting vixens. The Powerpuff Girls!
